‘DISASTER POP’ is the debut EP from London-based experimental hip hop collective Nukuluk. Drawing on a series of eureka moments during studio play, they owe their chaotic sound to a symbiotic relationship between each of the group’s five members and the broad pool of music that inspires them. Their world-building approach sees them design otherworldly production landscapes, stages where vocalists Syd and Monika can battle. Their manifesto for songwriting asks: “can you set the feeling of a song from the first sound?” — songs open with alien field recordings, clattering percussion, warped bass drones — with a view to transporting their listeners to new dimensions.

Nukuluk are comproised of Louis, Olivia, Monika, Syd & Mateo.
